Accreditation
EMCC Global Individual Programme Manager Accreditation (IPMA)
The EMCC Global Individual Programme Manager Accreditation (IPMA) is for people leading coaching and/or mentoring programmes, whether it is just one part of your role or a main function.
It recognises the quality of your practice and gives users of your programme management services greater certainty of your knowledge, skills and ability.
This demonstrates you effectively manage coaching and mentoring programmes. It’s independent recognition of your competence in programme design, delivery, and oversight.
We award IPMA at one of four levels
There are four levels of EMCC Global Individual Programme Manager Accreditation (IPMA), as set out below. Each level has minimum requirements for length of experience, number of programmes managed, and membership of EMCC Global or one of our affiliated countries or regions. Every applicant also needs to show evidence of continuing professional development, reflective learning, and ongoing one-to-one supervision. These are what demonstrate the quality of your practice.
Foundation
With a minimum of one year’s experience working in a role associated with programme management and with at least one programme.
Practitioner
Involved in end-to-end programme management, with at least three years’ experience and working with at least three programmes of medium complexity and with an EIA in place.
Senior Practitioner
With a five-year practice, involved in all aspects of design, delivery and evaluation. Experience with at least medium complexity programmes and your EIA accreditation in place at Practitioner level or above.
Master Practitioner
Seven years of practice, advising all aspects of programme management, with experience of at least seven programmes and holding at least a Senior Practitioner EIA.
Two easy ways you can apply for your IPMA
If you are a graduate of a training programme with an PMQA accreditation from EMCC Global then your application is very easy.
Your training provider will be in touch with us to let us know when you have passed the course. On completion of your practice hours, with evidence of past and ongoing one-to-one supervision, alignment with the Global Code of Ethics, your EMCC membership in place, and payment of the accreditation fee, your IPMA should be awarded automatically.
Note that if you completed your course more than two years prior to application, then you will need to apply directly.
For any queries, please contact us.
EMCC Global recognises prior learning irrespective of training or education, including learning which may have been gained via other routes.
If you have completed work-based courses, have microcredentials, completed university-based courses or have been following a development path of another body then you could apply directly to us for your EMCC Global IPMA.
