Thought Leadership
Shaping the future of coaching, mentoring and supervision
Thought Leadership is the core of what we do at EMCC Global. We drive innovation, connect global expertise, and maintain professional standards that improve lives and contribute to a better society.
Our Centres for Excellence (CfEs) make this happen. Each centre brings together expertise, innovation, and collaboration around a specific area of professional practice.
The CfEs create opportunities for our global community to share knowledge, learn from each other, and respond to the challenges facing coaching, mentoring, and supervision. They connect specialists and help our professions stay relevant and resilient.
We develop best practice expectations that keep coaching, mentoring, and supervision credible and effective.
We explore changes in our professions – such as the impact of AI – so you can adapt and respond with confidence.
We create opportunities for sharing knowledge and collaboration between experts in our global community.
Key initiatives
Framework and standards development – We review and update professional frameworks (like our Supervision Framework) and our Code of Ethics to reflect current practice and expectations.
Research into emerging issues – We commission and complete research projects focused on critical topics such as AI, digital transformation, and the evolving needs of our professions.
Annual Conference programming – CfE leads shape conference content through panels, reflective learning spaces, and conversations on topics like ethics, digital transformation, and supervision practice.
Entrepreneurship development – We help our community build entrepreneurial skills and business practices to stay sustainable and independent.
Collaboration with affiliated countries – We work with our affiliated countries to share CfE expertise and develop local initiatives.
Webinar programme – We run webinars delivered by CfE specialists and renowned thought leaders with sessions attracting up to 500 registrants from across our global community.
Our impact
In 2025, our 12 Centres for Excellence ran 15 webinars to the global community, launched three new centres (Team & Group Coaching, Entrepreneurship), and completed a revised Supervision Framework that reflects current practice.
We refreshed our Code of Ethics to make it more relatable and values-based. Our research programme completed three major projects focused on AI and what it means for coaching, mentoring, and supervision.
The CfEs shaped our Annual Conference content, creating panels and reflective spaces on ethics, digital transformation, and supervision practice. CfE leads and their teams collaborate across borders, sharing expertise and helping our community adapt to what’s coming next.
