Reflective practice keeping practitioners fit for purpose

EMCC Global’s definition of supervision is

A safe space for reflective dialogue with a practicing supervisor, supporting the supervisee’s practice, development and well-being.

The purpose of supervision is

  • To ensure the supervisee maintains appropriate professional standards
  • To facilitate the development of the supervisee’s professional practice
  • To provide support for the supervisee’s well-being

We enhance awareness of supervision as a critical practice towards reflection and reflexivity. We support implementation of the 2025 Revised Supervision Framework across all levels of practice, ensuring supervision speaks a universal language.

We cross-pollinate initiatives from different regions and countries to create borderless knowledge exchange. We act as ambassadors in developing geographies to expand supervision’s reach for all practitioners.

We maintain deep awareness of cultural differences and reflect on their impact within supervision. We ensure supervisors remain fit for purpose amidst the advent of AI, new methodologies, and shifting group dynamics.

Key initiatives

Framework Implementation – Socialising the 2025 Revised Supervision Framework through webinars for global networks including the Global Supervision Network, Asian Supervision Network, and Red de Supervisores de Habla Hispana. Ongoing since framework launch in 2025.

Regional Advocacy – Presenting at international conferences to expand supervision’s reach. Recent presentations at APAC conference in Kuching, Malaysia (Felicia Lauw) and ANSE conference (Michel Moral). Ongoing.

Translation Projects – Volunteer groups translating the revised framework for local communities. Multiple languages in progress.

Our impact

The 2025 revised supervision competence framework has been presented to diverse communities through webinars for the EMCC Global Supervision Network, Asian Supervision Network, and Red de Supervisores de Habla Hispana.

Volunteer groups are translating the framework for local communities, expanding access beyond English-speaking practitioners.
