EQA awarded to Academy of Coaching Psychology

Nov 19, 2025

Many congratulations to UK and USA-based Academy of Coaching Psychology, on earning an EMCC Global Quality Award (EQA) Accreditation for its Accreditation in Positive Psychology Coaching programme.

Course director Dr Katie Crabtree, a Chartered Coaching Psychologist and EMCC Global Master Practitioner and Supervisor, drew on her own PhD research and well-established approaches within coaching psychology in developing the programme.

She designed it for experienced coaches who already have a solid foundation in core coaching skills and want to deepen their practice through a psychologically informed, evidence-based approach. It means they can integrate coaching psychology, positive psychology, and reflective practice in a way that elevates their confidence and professional credibility.

And as this an EQA-accredited programme, EMCC Global is already reassured of the quality and content of the learning, which means that graduates of the course will already be eligible for their own EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA) at Practitioner level.

The endorsement presented by having an EQA accreditation shows the course aligns with internationally-benchmarked standards.

Katie said: “EMCC Global accreditation represents a commitment to professional integrity and continual growth. It signals that our work meets a recognised international standard, but more importantly, it reflects the values we want to bring into coaching psychology; rigour, reflection and ethical practice. EMCC Global accreditation is a marker of responsibility to the clients, organisations and learners we support.

The Accreditation in Positive Psychology Coaching programme is focussed on helping coaches apply psychological theory in a practical, grounded way. This helps coaches build the capability to work at greater depth, while staying ethical, boundaried and client-led. Katie said this enables a reflective, flexible mindset that enables coaches to respond creatively to the complexity of real-world coaching.

“I’m proud that the programme blends structured learning with meaningful application,” she added. “Participants complete supervised practice, reflective accounts, and a professional portfolio, ensuring that their learning is not just theoretical, but fully embedded in how they coach. For many, it becomes a pathway to accreditation as well as a richer, more psychologically informed coaching identity.”
