Congratulations to author and researcher Dr Suzi Skinner whose enduring contribution to the coaching community has been recognised with an EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA) at Master Practitioner level.
Suzi is also a Master Practitioner level EMCC Global Team Coach (ITCA) and a EMCC Global coach/mentor supervisor (ESIA).
Based in Sydney, Australia, Suzi is an expert leadership coach, facilitator, international leadership advisor and Managing Director of Roar People – a global leadership consultancy. Suzi’s doctoral research on leader self-efficacy forms the basis of her Positive, Adaptive Leader Mindset (PALM) programmes, which enable senior teams to apply Reflective Positivity techniques boosting their team and organisational success.
Her work has made a made a significant contribution to the profession – a key requirement for Master Practitioner level.
She is writing her latest book The Wise Leader Field Guide (to be published in 2026), a follow up to her co-authored book The Wise Leader (Routledge, 2023). Her first book Build Your Leader Identity – A Practical Guide to Leading Authentically from Any Position has sold thousands of copies worldwide.
Suzi said: “Personally and professionally, I benefitted from the process, coming away with a stronger sense of my purpose and philosophy as a coach/mentor/ supervisor. Most importantly, I came away feeling more grounded in the possibilities I hold for my contributions into the future. In this way the EMCC process was both insightful and motivational.”
She explained that because EMCC focuses on both professionalism and contribution to the field – whether it be coaching, mentoring or leadership – she was tasked with looking back on the impact her work over the past 24 years.
“Engaging in reflection that is so focused on achievements and contribution is not something I typically focus on. Yet it is exactly this practice – of reflecting on past successes to reimagine future possibilities – that was at the heart of my PhD findings into what differentiates effective leaders.
“As a result of this reflective exercise, I have come away with a much better sense of how EMCC contribute to our world – asking all practitioners to get clear on their positive impact and how they make a difference, which I believe is a wonderful legacy.
“Thank you so much to the EMCC committee members involved, particularly with the support and guidance of Denise Whitworth. I highly recommend it to other practitioners to take this reflective journey.”
Denise Whitworth, EMCC Global VP Accreditation and Membership, said: “By sharing what she has found over her career, Suzi has ensured that coaches across the world can be inspired to support their clients. We are so pleased that she is now a EMCC Global Master Practitioner and look forward to her ongoing engagement in the EMCC Global community.”
