Many congratulations to coach, leadership psychologist and soul guide Jon Keen, whose strength of practice and outstanding contribution to the profession has been recognised with an EMCC Global Individual Accreditation at Master Practitioner level.
Master Practitioner is only awarded to those individuals who have helped to shape our profession, and is the highest EIA level awarded.
Co-founder of Wild Rites, Jon’s practice is rooted firmly in nature and psychosynthesis. His unique coaching model Soulmaking In Nature is itself a blend of his practice and designed for clients to both discover and interact with their psyche in the mirror of nature.
Jon, who is based in the UK, has worked with a range of corporate clients, from technically competent executives going through transition within their business and needing interpersonal assistance, to executives going through anxiety. He also supports individuals as a transformational coach and as a soul guide, providing a safe, honest open space in which the revelations of the Self can emerge.
The onward impact of Jon’s work has been transformational – as well as sharing his learning and teaching at conferences, he also shares methodology with peer coaches and mentors through Wild Rites’ Blessing Mirror guide training. Using this, graduates of that programme have themselves gone on to make a consideration impact in government, with young people and with executive teams.
He said:
“My work with individuals has been described as both psychotherapy with purpose and as coaching with depth, height and soul. My work in organisations is unique and deeply relational, drawing on my experience of the art of leadership and a plethora of trainings in coaching, psychotherapy, somatic-work, wilderness guiding and various timeless wisdom traditions.”
Jon’s own background is inspirational, having combined adventure with learning:
“I am a born adventurer. I have sailed across oceans and travelled solo through some of the most remote regions of the world. I have also journeyed far inward, to the deep territory of Psyche and the soul. In each of these realms I have served as a guide and a teacher for others, holding responsibility for their well-being and sometimes their lives, both in their encounters with truly wild nature and in the depths of their exploration of the Self.
“In both my personal and professional lives, I am committed to the ongoing journey of growth towards my fully human self – living a life close to my purpose and values, seeking an ever-greater depth of self-realisation and the actualisation of the life that’s dreaming me.
“I see this life as my spiritual practice, the adventure of a soul incarnate, and intend to live it fully as a soul adventurer, whilst supporting the growth of others and the emergence of highly successful, joyful organisations.”
WildRites runs sessions in the Lake District, UK, but ever-adventuring, Jon is now exploring the opportunities of running programmes from a yacht. He was himself a yacht captain for 14 years and holds a Master og Yachts 200 tonnes (Ocean) qualification. As well as being a MLTUK mountain leader.
He said: “My deepest purpose and my greatest source of fulfilment is to guide people on their adventure of a lifetime, the quest to harness their will and find and align their lives with their own purpose, led by the wisdom of their soul.”
Already a Master Accredited Coach with APECS since 2020, Jon was drawn to adding an EMCC Global Master Practitioner Individual Accreditation as increasingly corporate clients are asking for either an EMCC Global or an ICF accreditation. EMCC Global’s approach to CPD and depth of practice was a closer alignment with Jon’s approach and he found resonance with EMCC UK practitioners.
He is also a MBACP registered counsellor/psychotherapist since 2016, achieved his Psychosynthesis Post-graduate Diploma in Organisational and leadership Coaching (5DL method) from the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London in 2016 and was awarded an M.A. Psychosynthesis Psychology, Middlesex University, 2018. He is a dually trained practitioner, with Psychosynthesis Counselling/Psychotherapy (2012) and Psychosynthesis Life Coaching/Leadership Coaching (2013).
Denise Whitworth, EMCC Global VP Accreditation and Membership, said: “Jon’s drive and commitment, his generosity of spirit and the way he is making an impact came across so strongly in his application and in professional dialogue. We are proud that he chose EMCC Global and welcome him warmly to our community.”
